CLEAR in Real Settings

TinyLab Study Center

The CLEAR Approach has been implemented with early childhood professionals internationally.

Our ongoing collaboration with TinyLab Study Center, based in the Philippines, continues to demonstrate how CLEAR supports educators and engages learners in building foundational literacy skills. TinyLab regularly brings new teachers into the training process, ensuring that CLEAR remains a living, active part of their classrooms.

CLEAR IN PRACTICE

TinyLab educators share that CLEAR helped them move from traditional pen-and-paper lessons to playful, multisensory, learner-led instruction. Lessons became more interactive and creative, and learners showed higher engagement, confidence, and joy. Teachers also reported that progress became easier to observe, making instruction more responsive and effective.

More than a dozen TinyLab educators submitted classroom examples, photos, and reflections documenting how CLEAR influenced their instruction.

Snapshots from TinyLab classrooms highlight how educators apply CLEAR components in small-group and one-on-one lessons. These are their own words, paired with real classroom moments.

Clear In Action

“Preparing lessons for each week is just as fun as facilitating them—especially knowing that children learn best when they can touch, feel, hear, and see. This hands-on, multisensory approach makes the learning process more engaging for the children and more fulfilling for me as their teacher. Identifying the letters for example. Instead of using pen and paper, they use toys.”

“I used engaging tools like dice, marbles, jolens, baskets, puzzles and other tools during small group time or one-on-one to make learning fun and interactive.”

“I gave the child the freedom to choose how she wanted to learn. I let her choose between a song and a game, and she chose the game-based learning method. From all the possible games related to the lesson, she selected "Spin the Wheel." In the electronic version of the game, she read aloud each word where the wheel stopped.”

What Educators Are Saying

“The CLEAR approach has greatly influenced my teaching by making learning fun not only for the children but also for me as their teacher. It has encouraged me to create lessons that are engaging and interactive, so that the classroom becomes a place of shared joy and discovery.”

Mai, TinyLab Teacher/Admin

“The CLEAR Approach has significantly enhanced my literacy instruction by placing students at the heart of the learning process. By prioritizing their interests, needs, and developmental levels, I’ve seen learners take greater ownership of their literacy journey."

Miles, Teacher

"The CLEAR Approach influenced my teaching by making it more fun and stress free learning style and I can see that my students enjoyed our lesson."
